Your Role

A key part of our nursery ethos is to offer optimum nutrition with home made meals cooked and baked onsite everyday for all our little ones. We work with an early years nutritionist who devises perfectly balanced menus to meet the full nutritional requirement for children under 5.

As our full-time chef, you will have a pivotal role within our team; liaising with our nursery manager and staff daily for careful planning and preparation of high quality menus.  We cater for up to 48 children each day. The ideal candidate will be someone with chef qualifications looking for a Monday to Friday daytime position. However, we would also consider a candidate with relevant experience who is used to cooking for a crowd and used to juggling their time in the kitchen – making and baking recipes from scratch everyday. The main duties of the role are:-

• Preparing nutritionally balanced and attractive family-style meals for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
• Planning menus and ordering food for meat eating and vegetarian diets on a rotational basis with the nursery managers.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health and safety at all times and in all areas
• Ad hoc assistance with nursery laundry

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Chef qualifications
• Food Hygiene certificate Level 2/3
• Food Allergy Awareness Training
• First Aid Certificate
