Pride and Passion
At Shenfield Day Nursery, our team takes immense pride in their roles as early years practitioners. With a passion for nurturing young minds, our staff brings a diverse range of skills and talents, fostering a fantastic team camaraderie. Many of our team members have extensive experience, with upwards of 5, 10, 15, and 20 years in early years education, providing a unique blend of maturity and life experience to our setting.
Qualifications
We are proud to share that 98% of our team is qualified in Early Years and Childcare to Levels 2, 3, 5, and beyond, bringing exceptional strength to our nursery. We are committed to providing training and continuous professional development, along with a staff wellbeing programme to support our team.
Celebrations
We regularly celebrate the strengths and efforts of our team, encouraging direct feedback through our open-door style management and all-staff presentations. One of the great strengths of our smaller nursery is that our staff members often know all the children throughout the nursery, further fostering the family environment we cherish at Shenfield Day Nursery.
Our Management Team
Siobhan
Manager, Shenfield Day Nursery
From a very young age I always knew I wanted to work with children. My journey into the early years sector started 19 years ago when I trained as a nursery apprentice.
During this training, I was privileged to work alongside some amazing nursery professionals who had spent many years inspiring and guiding children through their precious early childhood. This experience sealed my passion of wanting to work in one of the most impactful careers there can by – watching children develop everyday in both their learning and holistic journey of growing into little people ready to start Primary School makes this such a rewarding role.
I have enjoyed the experience of working within each of the special developmental stages from baby to pre-school age; from being a nursery apprentice, practitioner, senior, deputy and now Nursery Manager.
I feel extremely proud to be leading such a caring and wonderful team of professionals as we nurture each of our little ones within our homely setting in the heart of Shenfield.
Sarah
Deputy Manager, Shenfield Day Nursery
Working in my own children’s reception class I discovered I had an interest and love for working with children.
I very quickly decided to study for my Level 3 qualification whilst working within the local primary school and after school club. Whilst studying I became particularly interested in the early years age group and went on to work in a pre-school.
I joined Little Adventurers (our sister nursery) in 2018 and soon began studying my Level 5 (foundation degree) qualification gaining a distinction in 2023. I have also climbed the ladder from nursery apprentice through to practitioner, senior and now to Deputy Manager here at Shenfield. I am passionate about nurturing our children and ensuring they are settled, happy and ready to learn skills they will need for school and their future life.
It’s a real privilege to be part of your children’s lives; I love seeing their curiosity ignited and the joy they experience from learning new things and from the world around them! Shenfield Day Nursery is a lovely place to work; it’s super friendly and has a family feel!
Sharon
Assistant Deputy Manager, Shenfield Day Nursery
I started my working career in Health and Social Care at the age of 18 and worked in that sector for many years, although I always had a desire to work in the childcare sector to help children to learn and grow. In 2012, I became a nursery practitioner in a baby room and I worked my way up to a room leader position.
I fell in love with the sector and believe there’s nothing better than helping a child to achieve their full potential. I started working at Shenfield day nursery in 2019 as the deputy manager of the breakfast club. It was amazing to work with the older age group and get an insight to how different this age group were as I had been used to working with the under 2’s.
Since being at Shenfield Day Nursery, I have also worked in the pre-school room and currently lead our toddler room (Pooh Bears), alongside my role as assistant deputy manager. It’s so amazing to see the different levels of learning throughout each age group and watching them hit all their milestones is just a joy and a privilege. I am excited to embark on the journey of becoming our breakfast and after school club manager here at Shenfield Day Nursery.
I feel blessed to be able to try and make an impact in all the different children’s lives I will be working with.
