Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Our Local Offer

The SEND Policy is a key document to support the finest inclusive practice in our Nursery.

It outlines our statutory responsibilities and approaches to ensure that all children including those with SEND, can achieve their best possible learning outcomes and engage successfully in all aspects of the wider Nursery community.

It complies with current statutory requirements and guidance set out in relevant legislation and documents.

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) takes overall responsibility for the operation of this Policy and for co-ordinating specific provision for children receiving SEND support. Our SENCO also contributes to the strategic development of SEND Provision.

Safeguarding Children Policy

Our prime responsibility is the welfare and wellbeing of the children in our care.

The Nursery aims to create an environment which encourages children to develop a positive self-image and to establish and sustain satisfying relationships within their families, peers and other adults.

Children have the right to be treated with respect and to be safe from abuse in any form.

We support the children in our care, and have robust procedures in place to safeguard the children’s health, well-being and development.

Our Nursery strives to protect children from the risk of radicalisation and we promote an equal and inclusive environment. Our setting values and celebrates all cultures, backgrounds and abilities to ensure everyone feels welcomed and accepted.
